Two Parties Eyeing TDPs Votebank In Telangana?

There is no doubt in saying that the Telugu Desam Party has a good presence in Telangana even after the state bifurcation. We have seen this when TDP held a road show in Khammam. Roads were painted yellow by the supporters as they waved the party flags and gave a grand welcome to Chandrababu.

TDP would have made the Telangana election fight a big interesting had it stood on the word to contest the elections. But the party backed out of the elections at the last minute. This made T-TDP Chief Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj angry and he resigned from the party.

With TDP staying away from politics who would get the sympathy votes of TDP? Hyderabad has been seeing a spree of events to extend support to the TDP boss in the wake of his arrest. Be it IT employees or the TDP supporters they are coming forward for this.

However, political observers say that the two parties are eyeing the TDP vote bank. While one is the ruling BRS, the second one is the opposition Congress party. Both sides are trying their best to woo the vote bank to have an advantage.

Talking about the ruling BRS, the party changed its stand on the issue and we can see a change in its tone as well. In the initial days, IT Minister KTR asked what is the need to protest in Hyderabad when the arrest happened in Andhra Pradesh.

However, BRS leaders changed their version later. Big leaders like Harish Rao also expressed concerns over the arrest of CBN. Chief Minister KCR's daughter Kavitha also made some supportive comments.

As if that is not enough, Serilingampally BRS MLA Arekapudi Gandhi attended the 'CBN gratitude concert' at the Gachibowli stadium a few days back.

The same is the case with the Telangana wing of Congress. A few leaders condemned the arrest of the former Chief Minister. It would not be a wonder if we see few others coming out in support of the former Chief Minister.

Looking at the efforts of both parties, the political observers say that it is evident that they want to get the TDP's vote bank. However, we have to wait and see which party manages to get the vote bank in the upcoming elections.
