Indians Hacked ChatGPT, But How Much Money They Made?

Artificial intelligence has become very primal part of our lives these days. There is a lot of discussion happening about the security arrangement associated with the same, and also the kind of impact that it can have on the general public.

Now something very interesting has happened as a bunch of three Indians have gone on to hack the ChatGPT platform and have even made some money from it.

Cybersecurity researchers used Anthropic’s Claude software to gain access to an OpenAI employee’s ChatGPT account, allowing them to read OpenAI’s private software information and suggest changes.

A three-person team from the cybersecurity startup Hacktron carried out the planned attack in July as part of an OpenAI program to detect bugs.

OpenAI rewarded the hackers with $6,500 and said it resolved the issues the hackers discovered. The researchers were using an Anthropic tool specifically designed for security professionals.

Interesting line of all three of these individuals who had hacked into ChatGPT happened to Indians and one of them happened to be of Telugu origin.

Mohan Pedhapati is the Telugu guy in discussion here and he was accompanied by Harsh Jaiswal and Maini Rahul on this operation. Nevertheless, it must be kept in mind that hacking into ChatGPT is a very tough task, and these three individuals have successfully made it happen

The fact that they were paid around $6500 for this makes this whole operation, all the more interesting. This roughly converts around Rs 5 lakhs in Indian currency and that’s a fairly significant increase in the revenue too.
