A tragic car accident in Central Texas on August 14, 2024, led to the loss of three members of an Indian-origin family. The incident occurred six miles north of US 281 in Lampasas County, claiming the lives of Arvind Mani (45), his wife Pradeepa Arvind (40), and their daughter Andril Arvind (17). The family was on their way to The University of Texas at Dallas to settle Andril into her new college, where she was set to study Computer Science. Tragically, the only immediate family member left is their 14-year-old son, Adiryan, who was not with them at the time of the accident.

According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred when a Cadillac driven by Jacinto Gudino Duran lost control after a tire burst and collided head-on with the family's Kia Telluride. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, with the Kia catching fire upon impact. The DPS noted that the Cadillac was likely speeding, making it a high-impact collision.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Adiryan’s future, covering funeral expenses, educational costs, and ongoing care. The page highlights the family’s joyful moments before this tragedy, especially celebrating Andril’s college acceptance. The Rouse High School community, where Andril recently graduated, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

This accident has left the local and Indian-American communities in shock, especially with the devastation faced by young Adiryan, who now has to rebuild his life without his family.
