But the status quo had reportedly changed with Elon Musk making only the verified accounts eligible to reply to the posts. However, there is also a sharp criticism that the move might be aimed at attracting more users to become verified accounts.

Elon Musk spent a big amount of money on buying Twitter and he is exploring all the possible options to get the money back. As a big blow, he proposed the plan of charging a certain amount to get the verified tick.

Many say that just like the blue tick marks, the new option is also aimed at encouraging more people to pay the money to get verification so that they can enjoy the perks that come with the blue ticks for accounts.
