As the United States prepares for its presidential elections on November 5, an alarming incident has occurred. In separate incidents across Washington and Oregon, unknown individuals set fire to ballot boxes, raising concerns about election security. In Portland, Oregon, three ballot boxes were damaged in two separate fire incidents. Meanwhile, in Washington, a similar attempt was made, but fortunately, no ballot boxes were harmed. According to a Portland police officer, the fires were deliberate, with flammable materials placed under the ballot boxes, suggesting it was a coordinated act of vandalism.

Local authorities have urged anyone who submitted their ballots after 3:30 pm on Saturday in the PDT region to contact election officials to ensure their votes are counted. In another incident, a man was arrested in Phoenix after setting a mailbox on fire on Thursday, leading to the destruction of around 20 ballot boxes, according to local media reports.
