Talented actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was in the news for the wrong reason. Since yesterday, the media reports have been abuzz that she received a summons from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a recent drug bust case. The alleged racket was busted earlier this month.

However, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar gave a new twist to the tale and said that there is no truth in this. She took to social media to clarify that she did not receive any summons and that Adilingam, whose name is in the case, was his manager who worked for a brief period.

Saying that he is just a freelancer and she worked with a few freelancers, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar said that neither she received a summons nor she was asked to make a personal appearance.

Having cleared the airs, the actress said that she was also shocked to hear the news. However, Varalaxmi said that she would be happy to assist the government in any possible manner. Varalaxmi also expressed her concerns over the coverage of the news without any clarification from the concerned people.

"Mr. Adilingam had worked with me only for a brief period 3 years ago as a freelance manager.During this period I was also simultaneously working with many other freelance managers. After his tenure we've not had any association or communication with each other till date. I am equally shocked at the news. I would be happy to be of assistance to the government in anyway possible," Varalaxmi said in the statement.

It is said that the NIA busted a drug racket earlier this month and banned substances and firearms were also seized. Adilingam's name also popped up in the case and with this reports started doing rounds that she was called by the NIA.
