Vijayasanthi all set to join Congress Party

Maverick actress-turned-politician Vijayasanthi is all set to join the Congress Party. She is said to have decided to join the party anytime soon and plunge into the Congress party's campaign right away. If sources are to be believed, she has already made a deal with the Congress high command and is set to be appointed as the star campaigner of the party.

Vijayasanthi has been sulking for quite some time and is said to be upset with the BJP leadership. Some of the senior leaders who have recently joined the Congress, are said to have impressed upon the actress-politician the need to join the Congress party. Accordingly, Vijayasanthi has already held talks with her supporters as also with the AICC honchos.

Interestingly, Vijayasanthi is going to join the Congress party after the deadline for filing of the nominations are over. This only means that she is not going to contest for the assembly elections. Sources close to Vijayasanthi say that the Congress party has promised her an MP ticket. For the assembly elections, she would be made a star campaigner.

A section of the BJP leaders, however, feel that Vijayasanthi's joining of the Congress would be to BJP's advantage. The BJP sources say that senior leaders are already fed up with her tantrums and mood swings. They feel that Vijayasanthi has neither contested nor campaigned after 2018 and is not in touch with the voters of her constituency – the Medak Lok Sabha seat.
