The Lok Sabha election buzz had gripped the whole country. Talking about Andhra Pradesh, general elections will be held. There is a big debate among the political circles that in the wake of the upcoming elections, a few are going forward with the positive campaign aiming at their positive vote bank, while a few others are focusing on fake campaigns.

The social media campaign has a big weightage in the elections. Political observers say that social media is a big weapon for those who don't have strong media support and to counter the fake news that comes in the media houses. If not for this, the fake news gets circulated even before the people know the truth.

It is said that a few leaders are depending on social media to counter the fake news that is being circulated on their name, while a few others are circulating the fake news on social media. We are seeing massive ads as the major parties are focusing on giving ads.

Amid this, a picture was widely circulated on social media which shows that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met RSS, BJP leader Ram Madhav. It was being said that YS Jagan met Ram Madhav in the wake of the elections. A text was also attached to the picture.

"Why did Jagan meet the key RSS leader? Muslims in the YCP might be happy with this," is what the text says. With this, many say that people almost have clarity on who might have made the post. Keeping this aside, a popular firm did a fact-check on this and the truth came out.

The fact-check found that there is no truth in the post that Jagan met Ram Madhav. The photo which is now doing rounds is not a new one and it is an old one. It was found that the picture was from 2019 and the picture was clicked after YCP won the 2019 elections. The photo was from a news carried out by news agency ANI on May 26, 2019.

The post is seen as a possible attempt to mislead the people and minorities in the state. Highlighting this, the observers are advising the political parties to be cautious. At the same time, they are also requesting the people to understand the evil nature of the fraudsters.

This is just an example. With this a big debate is going on among the people, be it any party or the leader spreading fake news might be possible. Every party should be alert on this and fight the fake news and highlight the truth. Social media’s role is very crucial in both ways.
