What Is Fibernet Scam Case?
The initiative was aimed at providing Internet and telephone services to all households in the region. Tenders were also called for this. A case was filed by the CID back in 2021. Irregularities worth over a few hundred crores were unearthed reportedly.
It is said that Terra Soft was favoured by the then government. In the process of granting the tenders, a few irregularities were reported. Back when the CID filed a case, Vemuri Hari Prasad was listed as A1, and former MD Sambasiva Rao was listed as A2.
There are also allegations that the last deadline of the tenders was pushed so that the Terra Soft company could get an advantage. Based on the same an investigation was launched and now a PT Warrant has been filed.
It is known that Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh was the IT Minister in the previous government and the fibernat falls under his purview. So Lokesh's name might also be dragged into it, say reports.
