Will Bhuvaneswari, Brahmani play more active role in TDP?

There is a serious re-think within the opposition TDP over the ramifications of Chandrababu’s arrest. The party insiders feel that Chandrababu Naidu might not come out of the prison soon. Jagan might ensure that Naidu remains inside the prison long enough to spoil the party’s political plans.

At the same time, there are fears that even Lokesh Babu could be arrested and kept behind the bars for at least a couple of months.

What if both Lokesh and Chandrababu are behind the bars? Though actor-MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has said that he would take the mantle of the party, the cadres and the thinking heads feel that he is considered largely non-serious. There are also doubts about his articulation skills and political acumen.

Strong suggestions are emerging from the TDP that both Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani should take a more active role in the party affairs. There is a growing feeling that they should take a leaf out of YS Vijayamma and YS Sharmila and lead from the front when Chandrababu Naidu is in jail.

Interestingly, Bhuvaneswari attended the party meeting at the party headquarters on Wednesday. Sources say that she could play an active role in the party in the days to come. Sources also opined that Brahmani, who is relatively articulate and suave, should also lead from the front.
