BJP To Lose 50 Seats In the Northern States This Time?

BJP is looking confident and saying that it will win more seats. However, there is an opinion that there is no such situation in reality. BJP is very strong in the North. We have to credit the Northern states for BJP coming to power.

While there are 542 MP seats in the country, more than half the seats are in the North. With this, the North has been the winning factor of the BJP. Northern states have been the strong base of BJP since the Jana Sangh days. BJP was now strong in the South. The efforts it made for this did not give any positive outcomes.

For the Lok Sabha elections this time, the BJP has a big target. More than the BJP’s confidence, its strategies have a big role to play here. Now it is being said that the Northern States might take a turn from supporting the BJP. The estimation is that the BJP might win fewer seats compared to the previous elections. The slogan of winning 400 seats is dubbed as a strategy to fight the trend.

The media reports say that the BJP might lose as many as 50 seats in the Northern states. In the 2019 polls, BJP won over 260 seats. This time it might lose 50 seats and might get restricted to just 210 MP seats. This is a big issue for the BJP.

273 is the magic figure to form the government at the Centre. If the BJP falls short of the magic figure, the South states should help the party. If not for this, then it is a big task for the BJP to get the majority on its own.

In the last elections, the BJP won all 25 seats in Rajasthan. This time, it might lose ten seats. In 2019, it won 38 out of the 40 seats in Bihar. The same might not happen this time as RJD and Communists became strong in the state. With this, it might lose ten seats.

Talking about Gujarat, the BJP swept the seats in 2019 and won all 26 MP seats. In its strong turf, the BJP might lose two seats this time. In Haryana, the BJP might lose four MP seats. In 2019, the BJP won all seven seats and this time it might win just five seats.

Out of the 28 MP seats, BJP won a massive 25 seats in 2019. This time, BJP might taste a defeat in ten seats. Congress is in power in Karnataka and the party is fighting hard. With this, many say that BJP might not get a one-sided victory.

Rajputs, a strong community in the Northern states opposing the BJP is said to be the reason behind BJP possibly losing 50 seats. Rajputs are the strong vote bank of the BJP. But they have a different opinion now, say the observers. They are not happy with the decisions of the BJP government.

Jats, which is one of the strong communities in UP and Bihar are also said to be against the BJP. As the community supported the party earlier it recorded big wins. If the predictions turn real and BJP loses fifty seats then it has to take the support of allies to form the government.
