Indians Women Record, Spent Thousands Of Crores In Makeup!

Earlier we used to hear about make-up only regarding the artists. The trend later spread to metropolitan cities. It is known that make-up usage is seen everywhere now. The rise in the count of women who go to the office is also a reason behind this.

Recent reports say that the makeup business is seeing record numbers in India. As per the data, in the past 6 months, more than 100 million lipstick, nail polish, eyeliners, and others were reportedly purchased in 10 cities in the country.

The data is enough to tell how big the span of business is in the cosmetics sector in countries like India, with the highest population. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the sector is prospering in the country. Indians spent massive Rs 5,000 crores in just six months.

Market Research Panel Kantar Worldpanel said that around 40 percent of the business happened online. As per the reports, on average Indians are spending Rs 1,214 in six months. Lipstick sales are at the top among others.

Among the most purchased products, 38 percent of them are products that are used to make lips even more beautiful. Nail products are at the next position. While little old people bought lipstick, nail polish, and others, youngsters bought premium lil balm.

As per the report of Shoppers Stop, more than 1,50,000 makeup kits were sold in just three months. It also said that two-thirds of the sales happened in the retail market.

Experts are saying that the stats are an example of the craze for beauty items among Indians. It is also said that working women have a big role in this and they are purchasing more beauty products.
