Big doubt on Balakrishna's Akhanda

Akhanda, which marks the coming together of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Noyapati Sreenu is nearing the completion of the shoot now. The unit will soon be flying to Goa and Balakrishna will be taking part in the same. The unit will be canning a couple of songs in the picturesque locales in Goa and the entire shooting part will be completed with the same. The plan is to complete the schedule by the end of this month or by the first week of October. This makes it clear that the film will not be making it to the theatres Dasara season, as speculated earlier. The makers seem to have some other release plan in mind and they are acting accordingly. As things stand, Akhanda is not in the Dasara race, which could come as big boost to other films like Most Eligible Bachelor, Konda Polam, and Maha Samudram which have taken the pre-Dasara and post-Dasara slot.
Now the big doubt about Akhanda is, when will the film release? With the Dasara release option ruled out, Deepavali, and Christmas seasons are the only two available release slots for Akhanda. Comparatively, Deepavali slot is better, given the fact that no mainstream Telugu film has locked the slot. Varun Tej's Ghani was announced for Diwali release but the makers did not drop an update so as to the precise release plan. They haven't announced the film's release date till now. If Akhanda picks up the Diwali slot and the makers announce the release date, Ghani might be postponed.
As for the Christmas season, Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise has taken up the Christmas release slot. Allu Arjun is said to be determined to release the film in theatres this Christmas season at all costs. The film's shoot is nearing completion and it might well be releasing in theatres this Christmas season. Needless to say, locking horns with Pushpa is not a great option for Akhanda, given the fact that the Allu Arjun starrer is being mounted on a massive scale and is riding high on buzz.
It is known that next Sankranthi season is jam-packed already. Bheemla Nayak, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and Radhe Shyam have locked Sankranthi release. So, it is practically impossible for Akhanda to release next Sankranthi. Now, it remains to be seen when Akhanda actually releases
