The world is yet to come out of the impact of the Covid outbreak. Rubbing salts into this, the Russia-Ukraine war started which is still underway. However, the situation is contrast in India and the stats say the same.

Petrol and diesel sales increased in the country and the stats in May month are an example. The demand for agriculture increased and AC usage increased massively in summer, managing and other sectors are on the rise. Diesel is the highest consumed fuel in the country and compared to May last year, Diesel consumption increased by 9.3 percent in May 2023.

Diesel's share is 2/5th of the total fuel demand in the country. Diesel demand was 7.16 million tons in April, it reached 7.46 in May. While annual petrol sales increased by 10.4 percent, the monthly demand saw a rise of 16.5 percent.

Compared to May 2021 when the Covid outbreak was severe, petrol consumption increased by 72 percent, and compared to pre-Covid time in 2019, the consumption increased by 23.7 percent. Compared to 2021 May, Diesel consumption increased by 52.5 percent and increased by 6.8 percent compared to 2019 May.

The data says that Jet Fuel which is used in the Aviation sector also saw a big demand besides Petrol and Diesel. Compared to 2020 May the demand increased by 8.7 percent while the same increased by 137 percent compared to 2021 May. Compared to 2019 May, the demand decreased by 5.3 percent.

Surprisingly, jet fuel consumption increased massively in April this year. Compared to May, the consumption increased by 0.7 percent in April. The rise in consumption of Petrol, Diesel and Jet Fuel shows the growth of the country.
