Eatala admits Ponguleti may not join BJP

Eatala Rajender has once again courted controversy when he openly admitted that both Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao - the two leaders who left the TRS recently - may not after all join the BJP. He said that though he had tried to convince them to join the BJP, they were schooling him in the reverse and were asking him to leave the BJP.
Significantly, Eatala made these comments during a chitchat with the party workers in Hotel Daspalla in Hyderabad on Monday. These comments assume significance as Eatala is the chairperson of the BJP's joinings committee in Telangana. He has been trying to woo both the leaders to join the BJP for quite some time with no success.
He said that Ponguleti is from Khammam district, where both the Left and the Congress have strong roots. The BJP has little presence in the district. This could have forced Ponguleti to decide against joining the BJP. He said he has been talking to both the leaders for the past few days on a regular basis.
Eatala said he had only succeeded in delaying their joining of the Congress. He also said that he had gone and met Ponguleti on coming to know that he was going to meet Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi. He said Ponguleti has expressed his inability to join the BJP and said that there were some difficulties in joining the saffron party.
