The two Telugu states-Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will go for the general elections soon. While the Assembly elections in Telangana will be held this year the elections will be commenced next year in Andhra Pradesh. Ahead of the general elections, both states will see another election, and the schedule was issued for this.

Election heat gripped Telugu states as the top election body, the Election Commission of India (ECI) released the schedule for the MLC elections. The elections will be held for the vacant positions. The notification for the polls will be released on the 16th of this month.

Andhra Pradesh will go for elections for eight local authorities constituencies, followed by three Graduate constituencies and two Teachers constituencies. In total, the elections will be held for 13 constituencies.

The elections will be held for the Local authorities constituencies in Anantapur, Kadapa, Nellore, West Godavari, East Godavari, Chittoor, Srikakulam, and Kurnool. Talking about Graduates' Constituencies, Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor, Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool, and Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam will go for the polls.

On the other hand, Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor and Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool will face the elections in Teachers' Constituencies. As the tenure of the elected members coming to an end, the election commission issued the schedule.

Coming to Telangana, the Election Commission released the schedule for two Constituencies. One for Local Authorities Constituency and Teachers Constituency in Hyderabad and Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad respectively.

As per the schedule, the Notification for the MLC Polls in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana will be issued on the 16th of this month. 23rd of February was picked as the last date to file the nominations for the elections. The nominations filed by the candidates will be Scrutinized on the 24th of this month.

The candidates who filed their nominations for the polls can withdraw their applications on 27th February. The elections will be held on the 13th of next month. The elections will be held from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm during the hours of poll. The votes that were polled in the polls will be counted on the 16th of March. We can expect an intense poll as the elections are coming before the general elections in both states.
