Is former CM Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy joining the BJP? Highly placed sources say that it is only a matter of time when Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy makes the formal announcement. He is said to be in touch with the top leadership of the BJP and has given them a clear indication of his inclination.

In fact, Kiran Kumar Reddy has already forwarded his resignation from the Congress Party to AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge.  He has been quite inactive in the Congress Party for quite some time and maintained a low profile. If sources are to be believed, he would be given a key post in the BJP.  An agreement has been reached to this effect, sources say.

Kiran Kumar Reddy, who hails from a political family in Punganur, has been the speaker of the AP assembly and a key minister in the past. He was a member of the inner coterie of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He was made the CM after Rosaiah. He was the last CM of the undivided Andhra Pradesh.

After the bifurcation of the state, he formed the Jai Samaikyandhra Party and contested the 2014 elections. All his candidates lost their security deposit. Since then, Kiran Kumar Reddy had gone into a political hibernation, rarely surfacing in public programmes. In the past, he was also summoned to Delhi by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. They wanted him to lead the Congress Party. However, Kiran Kumar Reddy declined the offer.
