Negative feedback about Kavitha forces BRS to focus on welfare schemes?

Is the ruling TRS having second thoughts about its response to the Delhi liquor scam? The party is worried that there is negative feedback about the protests against her questioning by the ED. The surveys conducted by the party have shown that the people are largely lukewarm towards the TRS campaign.
Worried by this, the party has asked the party cadres and leaders not to focus on the Kavitha issue and get along with the party programmes. The BRS had originally planned to organize state-wide intense protests claiming that the BJP was pursuing politics of vendetta. However, the feedback from the ground suggested that there was no sympathy for Kavitha among the people and that many believe that she had indeed some role in the Delhi liquor scam.
Highly placed sources said that the party leadership has come to the opinion that the protests could be counter-productive. Hence KTR reportedly held a tele-conference with the party workers across the state and directed them to get along with the regular business. He asked them not to focus on the protests.
He is said to have asked the party workers to popularize the government's welfare and developmental schemes. He asked them to go to the people and explain about programmes like the Dalit Bandhu, Rythu Bandhu, Podu lands, Gruhalakshmi and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes. Meanwhile, Kavitha will appear before the ED again on March 16.
