No party wants to touch BRS even with a bargepole?

Till a few months ago, the BRS was brimming with confidence that it would cobble up an anti-BJP coalition at the national level. Its chief KCR too made a lot of noise and went around meeting opposition biggies. He even opened party offices in Delhi and some other places amid much fanfare. But, at the end of the day, all this effort appears to be an exercise in futility.

As of now, KCR is not talking about national politics. He has not even met any leader of consequence except perhaps Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal. Though it was touted as an Kejriwal's effort to garner support against Delhi's lieutenant governor, the meeting was clouded by the allegations of Delhi liquor scam, in which KCR's daughter Kavitha Kalwakuntla is said to be involved.

KCR's grand isolation is complete now as he has not even been invited to the massive Opposition conclave planned on June 23 in Bihar's capital of Patna. All major non-BJP parties have been sent invitations for the conclave. But, the BRS has not been invited. NO emissary came to meet him. Sources say that the opposition thinks that KCR is untrustworthy and could suddenly switch over to the NDA after the state elections. As of now, the BRS has no activity whatsoever outside Telangana and some border areas of Maharashtra.

Political observers say that a lot depends on the results of the 2023 assembly elections. The non-BJP parties could come to him only if he manages to register a third straight win in the state. If he loses the elections, KCR and his BRS would meet the same fate that the TDP is currently facing. Come to think of it. There is no invite to Chandrababu Naidu, who was the convener of the NDA and the National Front at one time, for the Patna meeting.
