The decades-old Khalistan movement is again getting momentum now. The supporters of the movement seeking a separate identity are creating a ruckus in the nation and outside the country too. Recently, the Khalistan supporters removed the Indian flag and replaced it with the Khalistan flag at the Indian High Commission building in London.

As another example of how Khalistan is turning out as a big threat to the nation, the Indian Consulate In San Francisco was attacked by Khalistan supporters. They reportedly raised pro-Khalistan slogans and raised flags. The US administration swung into action and removed the flags.

The Indian Consulate in San Francisco in the USA was vandalised by the Khalistan protestors. They tried to break the doors and glasses. In the attack, the furniture was damaged. After raising slogans, they left the place. The videos went viral on social media.

The White House reacted to the incident and said that what happened is not acceptable and it is working with the local authorities. An investigation is underway and the authorities assured strict action against the accused who vandalised the Consulate.

"The State Department's diplomatic security service is working with local authorities. I can't speak for the San Francisco police, but I can say that the diplomatic security service is working with local authorities to properly investigate and obviously, the State Department is going to be working from an infrastructure perspective to repair the damage, but it's unacceptable," An officer said.

Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh came on the radar of the Union Government and the Home Ministry is after him. Based on the instructions of the Home Ministry, the Punjab Police is after Singh. A manhunt was launched to nab him.

His supporters attacked a Police Station in Punjab a few weeks back. It is said that Amritpal Singh might have been behind the attack on the Police Station in Ajnala. Following this, the Home Ministry started focusing on him.

So the Centre wants to arrest him. On the other hand, the Khalistan supporters are vandalising properties and structures in other nations to stand in solidarity with Amritpal Singh, the chief of Waris Punjab De, which supports the Khalistan movement.
