The Telangana Rashtra Samithi played a key role in the Telangana movement and rose to power. The party won two consecutive terms and wants to create history by winning the third term. The same party is eyeing national politics and for this, it became Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
BRS is trying its best to expand its footprint in other states. The Lok Sabha elections are one year away from now and the party wants to create an alternative force at the centre. Ahead of this, a survey found shocking details about the party and what people are thinking about the party.
NDTV conducted a survey in partnership with Lokniti-Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) on the party. The majority of the participants of the survey from the northern states reportedly said that they did not know that a party named BRS exists.
The survey revealed the party's image in the northern states. Though a good percentage of participants say that they know KCR, they did not say yes to the question of whether they accept him as the Prime Minister. The survey pours water on the dreams of the BRS party on national politics.
KCR pinned high hopes on leading the opposition parties to take on the mighty BJP. However, things turned upside down with the Karnataka elections and Congress became a big player again. All the opposition parties are now ready to walk with Congress.
As an example of this, KCR was reportedly not invited to the oath-taking ceremony of the Karnataka CM and his deputy when other leaders were invited. A few newspapers carried out news saying that the opposition parties are not considering KCR. Now the new survey came out which is shocking.
