The Karnataka Chief Minister race is getting more intense with each passing day. We have been hearing that the new Chief Minister would take oath tomorrow and the leadership candidate would be picked up soon. Two names are said to be in consideration for the big position.
Amid reports of the Congress party reportedly zeroing on one candidate, Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala came into the picture and cleared the airs on the episode he shared some key information on the CM race and the process in this regard.
Randeep Singh is believed to have said that there is no truth in reports that a name was picked for the CM post. He said that no decision was taken on this yet and the decision would be announced soon as the talks are underway.
"Whenever Congress makes a decision we will inform you. In the next 48-72 hours, we will have a new cabinet in Karnataka. A new chief minister will be sworn in within 24 hours," the Congress leader said.
Since earlier today we are hearing reports that DK Shiva Kumar and Siddarmaiah are top contenders for the post and the leadership is also unable to pick one among them.
But Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala brought a new twist to the issue and said that no decision was taken yet. He also said that there is no truth in the reports of May 18th as the oath-taking ceremony of the new Chief Minister.
