YS Sharmila is the daughter of YSR and the sister of Jagan. It's been two and a half years since she started her party and she is facing issues in leading the party. The party did not see any strength despite Sharmila completing a 3,600 km long padayatra. No big leader joined the party and for some time a debate is going on about whether the party will be merged.
Initially, many said that her party is the B team of the BJP. But the ongoing developments hint that she might be moving towards the Congress. She met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiva Kumar twice. There is an occasion for the first meeting.
Congress won the Karnataka elections and many felt that she might have met him to congratulate him. But the second meeting with DK Shiva Kumar raised many eyeballs and many think that there is something behind the meeting. Elections will be held in five months in Telangana. Congress has to win the polls or else the party cannot grow further say many.
Congress wants to repeat the Karnataka scene and win the Telangana elections. The Congress party is said to be thinking about whether Sharmila would serve any purpose. Sharmila is said to have had some inhibitions in going for a sole fight. She is thinking that she cannot lock horns with the ruling BRS and the opposition Congress and BJP. If Congress gives any offer we might see a possible alliance. However many say that the alliance would become a merger.
New news is doing rounds that say that Congress wants to make Sharmila a star campaigner. Her roots are in Andhra and the Congress party is worried that BRS might raise the Telangana issue again. With this, the Congress leadership reportedly wants to use her services in Telangana and hand over party responsibilities in Andhra Pradesh. This gives two-way results.
But Sharmila is said to be stressing on the Khammam MP seat. But that is not easy and Renuka Chowdhury is there. The Congress party is trying to rope in Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. If this happens, he demands Khammam MP seat.
