The Kapu Community Shocked The Ruling YSRCP?
X
It is known that the Graduates' election results in Andhra Pradesh shocked the ruling YSRCP. The YCP government faced a big blow in North Andhra despite announcing Vizag as the capital and it wants to start ruling from there soon. Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, TDP MLC candidate recorded a big victory. He crushed YCP candidate, Brahmana Samakhya Chairman Sitamraju Sudhakar by a margin of around 15 percent.

Talking about Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, he hails from the Kapu community. It is said that Kapus are distancing themselves from the YSRCP after it came to power due to various reasons. The previous TDP government implemented 5 percent reservations for Kapus out of 10 percent reservations for EWS announced by the Centre. However, YCP canceled the reservations, which Chandrababu Naidu gave to Kapus.

Moreover, YCP chief AP CM Jagan said that the Kapu reservation is not under his radius and the Centre should take a call on this. On the other hand, the union government clarified in Parliament that giving reservations to communities falls under the jurisdiction of the concerned states. Many say that this proved it is the Jagan government’s mistake in the Kapu reservation row.

In the North Andhra region, the Kapu community is a big community besides the BCs. Mega fans are in big numbers there as per the experts. The Kapu community and Mega fans are said to be not happy with the way the YCP government dealt with Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan during his Vizag tour. There is an opinion that youth and mega fans might have felt angry that Pawan Kalyan was not allowed to do a rally and power was cut and the Police tried to arrest him by going to the hotel in which he stayed.

On the other hand, Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan urged people to vote against the ruling YSRCP in the Graduate MLC elections. He made a clear announcement on that. Not just that, the possible alliance between Janasena and Telugu Desam party in the next polls might have also left its impact. The experts say that the Kapu community in the North Andhra region might have voted against the YSRCP.
