What If IPL Finals Cant Be Played On Reserve Day too?

We would have seen a clear winner of the Indian Premier League(IPL) trophy by now if not for the rain-stopping the finals between the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which won the IPL trophy four times so far. The finals, which were scheduled to be played on Sunday were washed out due to rain.

It was a heartbreaking movement for the fans who brought the tickets to watch the finals. Due to the rain, the finals were moved to May 29, Monday. But the weather conditions hint that the chances of playing the finals are also very less.

So there is a doubt about what happens if the finals are washed out on the reserve day as well. Experts say that Gujarat Titans might be declared the winner as the defending champions has the advantage of having higher points than others on the table. If this happens then the team would win the second trophy in a row.

If the conditions won't allow the finals to be played then there would be a five-over match between the teams. If that was also not possible a Super Over would be played allowing the team which scores the most runs in six balls to lift the IPL trophy. This would be a Paisa Vasool for fans and both teams are blessed with hitters who can overpower any bowler. Let us wait and see what happens.

If super over is also not possible then the defending champions would be declared a winner. There are thick clouds in Ahmedabad and weather conditions say there are over 40 percent of chances for the city to see heavy rains.

Finals washing away due to the rain would make the CSK fans really sad. Many say that this would be the last season of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and fans want the legend to bid goodbye with a trophy. Though there is no official announcement on this, a few former players raise doubt about Dhoni stepping down from the IPL. Dhoni made his team one of the most successful sides in the tournament and the team won four trophies under his leadership.
