Former Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury earned the image of a firebrand leader with her fierce nature. Her explosive comments make her stay in the headlines always. She served as the Union Cabinet Minister a few times and gave some impressive speeches in the Parliament house.

It is known that Renuka Chowdhury and others openly supported the Padayatra started by Amaravati farmers to have a single capital for Andhra Pradesh. That increased the political heat in Andhra Pradesh with the members of the ruling YSRCP breathing fire on her. This led to a war of words between her and YCP members.

Adding intensity Renuka said that she will contest from Gudivada and Khammam in the next elections. Saying that she contested only Parliament elections and has never run the Assembly polls, Renuka said she will run the elections from Gudivada against Kodali Nani and also said that she will run the polls in Khammam as well.

As earlier Kodali Nani said that Renuka Chowdhury cannot win the elections as a Corporator in Khammam, she said that she will prove her capabilities by winning the Khammam elections. Her comments charged up the political heat in both states.

Political experts say that the dynamics in Khammam and Gudivada might have made Renuka Chowdhury pick the two constituencies. Khammam has been a stronghold of the Telugu Desam Party for a very long time. That is the reason why the grand old party started its operations recently from the same region.

The settlers and Kamma population are in big numbers in Khammam and they can be a deciding factor in the elections. They might vote for her in the elections and this possibility cannot be ruled out. Her close association with TDP would also come in handy.

Renuka Chowdhury started her career with TDP and served as the MP. Later she joined Congress. She represented the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. These factors would also favour her. Renuka has been a supporter and sympathizer of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu. The vote bank of TDP might vote for her in Khammam and Gudivada constituencies. She served as Minister of State for Tourism and the Ministry of Women and Child Development earlier.
