Why is BRS scouting for retired AP bureaucrats?

Though the BRS has made a grand entry into AP politics by announcing a state convener and by organizing some key joinings, the party has not made much progress. It is finding the going quite tough as corrupt and ineffective people are joining the party. These leaders do not bring any credit to the party, the BRS boss is said to have opined.

Hence, the party is now looking to woo civil servants. KCR reportedly believes that IAS officials and top bureaucrats are less corrupt and have a better image. They would help build the image of the party, he reportedly feels. Hence, he is now said to have instructed the party leaders to scout for bureaucrats.

If sources are to be believed, the BRS has made an offer to former joint director of the CBI VV Lakshminarayana. The party offered him a key post and a ticket to contest from the BRS in Vizag. Lakshminarayana is said to have not committed himself to the offer so far. Meanwhile, there are reports that AP BRS convener Thota Chandrasekhar has met former DGP Sambasiva Rao and requested him to join the BRS.

However, Rao reportedly told him that he still has one more year as the director of Vizag Naval corporation and would consider the offer after his retirement. The BRS is said to be scouting for some more retired bureaucrats in North Andhra and is said to be wooing them.
