Champions Trophy To Go Asia Cup Way With BCCI's Decision?

As we are done with the T20 World Cup the focus is on another major ICC event which is the Champions Trophy. The reason behind the event getting a lot of attention is that Pakistan is hosting the ICC event and pinned high hopes that the Indian team would visit the nation. The schedule is being prepared by the PCB.

The Media reports are abuzz that the Pakistan team would face a big shock with this and the Indian team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan. Sources say that the BCCI is not ready to send the team to Pakistan and it is suggesting a hybrid model.

News Agency ANI said that the Indian team might not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. With this, the BCCI might ask the ICC to make the event a hybrid one with Dubai or Sri Lanka being the other venues.

This is not the first time the BCCI said no to going to Pakistan. For the 2023 Asia Cup, BCCI did not go to Pakistan and Sri Lanka hosted the matches along with Pakistan. India's matches were held in Sri Lanka.

It looks like the same might happen and we might see Dubai or Sri Lanka hosting the matches. PCB pinned high hopes on the Champions Trophy hoping that the Indian team would visit. However, the BCCI had different plans.

It's been a long time since the Indian team traveled to Pakistan for an event. Due to the political tensions, the bilateral series were stopped between India and Pakistan and India did not travel to Pakistan. After a long time, Pak came to India for the 2023 World Cup.
