Can Newzealand, South Africa Clinch Maiden World Cup?

South Africa and New Zealand are two of the biggest cricketing nations and they are dubbed as the dangerous teams. Both teams have match-winning players like lethal bowlers and pinch-hitting batsmen who can give sleepless nights to any bowler on their given day.

There is another common point between the teams. None of the teams won a World Cup as of now. In the 2019 edition, it came very close to winning the cup. But luck shined in favour of England as the team won the first World Cup. The same happened in 2015 as Australia crushed the Kiwis team.

The New Zealand team has match-winners like skipper Kane Williamson, and speedster Trent Boult, who picked 39 wickets in World Cup events. Despite this, the party could not win at least one cup. The team had a dream run in the 2019 World Cup and in the final, it lost the cup to England as the English team smashed more fours.

South Africa which plays well in bilateral series chokes in the big events. The team reached the semis four times and was knocked out all four times. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, MS Dhoni-led India knocked South Africa out of the tournament in the semis.

Sports analysts say that this could be the best opportunity for both teams as the 2023 edition of the World Cup might be the last one for many players in both teams. If the big players step down next year then winning the cup is next to impossible.

Due to the IPL, the foreign players are familiar with the Indian picthes and if they can make the best of it then the two teams would have a high chance of winning the cup. Let us wait and see if the two teams can put an end to the wait for the World Cup.
