After three years of consecutive failure under Hardik Pandya, as the captain of the team, it is being reported that Mumbai is preparing for a shift in the dynamic.

It is being reported that Rohit Sharma could be returning as the captain of the Mumbai Indians team ahead of the 2027 season. Apparently, he suggested the name of Tilak Varma for the captain position, but the team management wants Rohit to return as the captain.

Another twist in this story is that Hardik Pandya, who had been in the captain of Mumbai Indians for three years, has reportedly agreed to play under Rohit's captaincy again.
