Indian fans have been eagerly waiting to see the Men In Blue in action in the action World Cup. If not for the rain spoiling, India would have played two warm-up matches. India will start its WC stint against Australia, which is looking strong in all the departments.

India and Australia are slated to lock horns on Sunday. However, it is said that India might face a big blow with the absence of a star opener. Reports are abuzz that Shubman Gill, who is in prime form is not well. The opener is believed to have caught Dengue and tested positive.

It is said that Gill is not well and the doctors' team is monitoring him. As it is not possible for him to recover in one day, he might miss the first match. There are also a few fears that he might miss two matches. This can be seen as a big blow to the team.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are proven openers for the team and we have seen this in the recent Asia Cup. The pair gave the required start in the tournament and helped us win the trophy.

His absence might trouble India a bit. Looking at the other options, team India has two options for Gill's replacement. Left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul can be considered for the same. Both are proven players and might end up getting the opportunity. In the match against Pak, Rahul scored a big century while Ishan Kishan played a fiery knock.

World Cup is played in India and we have an advantage over other teams. The team is looking strong and Gill's presence will make it even stronger. Let us wait and see what happens.
