Is Bandi Sanjay's removal boomeranging on the T BJP?

The hasty decision of the national leadership to remove Bandi Sanjay abruptly is coming back to haunt the BJP in Telangana. Clearly, the party has failed to assess the impact of Bandi Sanjay's shenanigans. During the last three to four years, he has created a band of loyal supporters on one hand and has managed to create an impression among the general public.

BJP sources say that the the party worker, who are now on a massive outreach across the state, are confronted with the question about Bandi Sanjay's removal. The party workers are finding it difficult to explain the abrupt change. Also, the general impression of G Kishan Reddy being a docile politician is also affecting the party.

Interestingly, even those who rooted for Sanjay's replacement, are questioning the timing of his removal. "He should have been replaced at least six months ago. That would have given time for things to settle down. Unfortunately, removal at this stage will leave the new president with very little time to set things right," said a senior party leader.

The utter lack of response from the party rank and file to G Kishan Reddy's call for inspecting the progress of the construction of the two-bedroom houses has left the party honchos baffled. They feel that he is unable to inspire the grassroots level party workers. It remains to be seen how the party's leadership will tackle this.
