Who is No 2 in BRS these days?

Who is the No 2 in the BRS? This question is dogging the BRS rank and file, especially the MLA ticket aspirants these days. Since the change of the party from the TRS to BRS, there is a lot of confusion among the party leaders about who to approach and who to impress upon to get the party ticket.

Till the 2019 elections, the party had a clear chain of command. While KCR was the undisputed No 1, KTR as the working president was No 2. KCR's nephew Harish Rao was considered No 3 and Eatala Rajender was regarded as No 2. But, after the BRS is formed, there is no working president for the party. Thus, KTR is no longer the to-go man in the party.

Also, KTR does not have the deep contacts with the party cadre like Harish Rao. Harish not only knows the rank and file very well, but also can address the ordinary party worker by his name. This has endeared him to the grassroots cadre. Harish is more accessible and hence he is fast emerging as an alternative power centre in the party.

As a result, the party leaders who are aspiring for party tickets for the upcoming assembly elections are in a quandary as to who to approach. If they approach Harish Rao, that could annoy KTR. At the same time, Harish Rao too is said to be making a note of those who are approaching KTR. Thus, the party leaders are in a state of utter confusion.
