Relentless rains pour cold water on T BJP

It seems the rain god is mighty angry with the BJP in Telangana. Unprecedented downpour across that state has marred several prestigious programmes of the party. The party, under the new leadership of G Kishan Reddy, wants to put the party in fighting fit mode. But the unrelenting rain God is not allowing it to do so.

Last month, the BJP wanted to hold a massive public meeting in Khammam and invite Union Home Minister Amit Shah to it. But, floods and cyclone in Gujarat forced Amit Shah to cancel the meeting and rush to Gujarat to take up relief operations. Not just that. State chief Bandi Sanjay had to make way for Kishan Reddy.

Kishan Reddy wanted to stage a massive protest against the BRS government. The BJP even obtained a nod from the high court and made all the required preparations. But, the unrelenting rain has marred the party's plans. The state unit had to abandon the protest programme. The party cited rain as the reason for cancellation.

Now the latest rain intervention is Amit Shah's proposed visit to Hyderabad on July 29. His visit was considered quite important as he was expected to address the rampant groupism in the party. However, massive and unprecedented rains in Telangana have forced the cancellation of the programme. As a result, the BJP leaders have all fallen silent.
