October to witness major political changes?
The month of October could witness tectonic shifts in AP politics
The month of October could witness tectonic shifts in AP politics. If political analysts are to be believed, several key politicians from either side of the fence could switch sides and several other leaders could be making significant political moves. Pundits also say that the October would see the beginning of major political moves by all important political parties in the state.
The opposition TDP has decided that its election manifesto for 2024 would be released in October. This means the TDP will practically launch its election campaign from October. Not just that, the party could either announce or internally decide its candidates for at least 80 per cent of the seats. Thus, there would be heightened political activity in the TDP from October.
Meanwhile, the ruling YSRCP will complete its grassroots surveys by September and decide on its candidates in October. Those assured of seats would be able to begin their election campaign from October. The YSRCP is likely to deny tickets to at least 40 MLAs who, according to its surveys have underperformed. This would only mean that they could become either rebel candidates or shift to other parties like the TDP.
The Jana Sena too would decide on its strategy by October. The party is likely to demand at least 50 seats from the TDP. If the TDP does not agree, the Jana Sena could either go alone and contest all the 175 seats or enter into an alliance with the BJP. In the event of joining hands with the BJP, it is likely to demand a larger share of seats, making BJP the junior partner in the alliance.
So wait for the month of October to witness major changes in AP.
