With the superb blockbuster talk coming around “Dhurandhar 2”, the name Aditya Dhar, the writer, director and producer of the film, is ringing huge bells at the moment. Though he has shaken up the box office with movies like his own directorial, Uri: The Surgical Strike, earlier, and later with his production venture Article 370, Aditya has now become a cult director in the lines of SS Rajamouli and Rajkumar Hirani. At this juncture, the director’s own life story has become nothing but bigger than cinema.

Aditya Dhar has battled dyslexia, a learning disability, which causes difficulty reading, writing and word pronunciation. Before toiling hard to make a name in the industry, he even tried his hand at cricket. Later, he started his career as an assistant, then wrote songs and dialogues for TV serials, and finally became a director in 2019 with URI: The Surgical Strike, featuring Vicky Kaushal. Later, he was supposed to direct mythological actioner Immortal Ashwathama, but that didn’t work out.

Finally, he started his own production house, B62 Studios, to carve out interesting movies. Rather than chasing big stars, he made films like Article 370 and Dhoom Dhaam with his wife, Yami Gautam, in the lead. Then came the best part as he teamed up with Jio Studios to carve out Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Probably the scale of success of these two parts puts him at the top of the pedestal in Bollywood, and we have to see what sort of films he will come up with now.
