A Mid-Range War Between The Heroes!!

Update: 2019-07-22 06:40 GMT
Not many know how close Srikanth and Jagapathi Babu, Dr. Rajasekhar, Suman fought in 90's while Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Balakrishna were in separate league.

It is true that Suman couldn't hold on to his market once Jagapathi Babu became highly famous and Srikanth too took over the mantle from Vinod Kumar, Bhanuchander. Rajendra Prasad had a different set of audiences as he did more comedies than anyone else.

Once upon a time Kantha Rao - Harnadh, later Ramakrishna - Krishna - Sobhan Babu - Krishnam Raju, later  Sridhar - Chiranjeevi - Murali Mohan - Chandramohan became tier-2 heroes who had tug of war kind of competition.

As ANR-NTR became older and expensive stars, Kantharao and Harnadh along with Jagayya became Tier-2 stars in 1960's. While ANR and NTR still continued to be big as Sobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Krishna grew from being part of their movies to Tier-2 stars in 70's.

Ramakrishna missed some golden chances to become a star but he and Ranganath had a terrific run for few years as leads. Sridhar, Murali Mohan and Chandramohan started to have box office hits by late 70's and Chiranjeevi also entered the Industry.

By the time 80's have entered, ANR and NTR decided to look at movies as a hobby than major occupation. Krishna, Sobhan Babu and Krishnam Raju became stars and for few years, Chiranjeevi-Murali Mohan- Chandramohan fought as Tier-2 big heroes.

Khaidi changed the equation and as action films, revolutionary subjects took over Dr. Rajasekhar, Suman, Bhanuchander, Vinod Kumar found more films and fans than Murali Mohan and Chandramohan who were categorised as class heroes. Rajendra Prasad's entry even took over the family market.

Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh build on the base their fathers built over years. By 1990's they became bigger stars than Rajasekhar, Suman. Mohan Babu transformed into lead successfully and tried to challenge them all.

What are we trying to tell with all this? The Stars that command huge popularity had their own wars on large scale and there were next level stars who fought battles among themselves too.

Now, the war between Vijay Devarakonda, Nani, Naga Chaitanya, Ram, Nithiin, Sai Dharam Tej has intensified too. With each of them looking to hit 50-65 crores range consistently with hits and maintain 20-22 crores market for flops as well, they are looking hungry and are latching on to others subjects as well.

If directors can slightly change their characters to accomodate the respective hero style, then they have a chance to direct any hero among them with same script. Looks like each one of them is breathing down others neck!
