Veteran filmmaker AC Trilokchander who has done films with legendary actors NTR, MGR, Shivaji Ganesan, Krishna and Rajinikanth passed away at 2.45 PM on Wednesday in Chennai.
Trilokchander hails from Aarkat of Vellur district in Tamil Nadu. He has wielded megaphone for around 65 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindu.
NTR's memorable films such as 'Ramu', 'Pavithra Hrudayalu' & 'Nadhi Aadajanme' were directed by him. He even helmed Superstar Krishna's sensational suspense thriller 'Ave Kallu'.
'Deiva Magan' directed by Trilokchander is the first south indian film to compete for Oscar awards in the foreign films category. He received Filmfare awards for 5 times. He was a recipient of Tamil Nadu Government's 'Kalaimamani' award. He served as chairman of Tamil Nadu film institute for four times.
