Update: 2020-09-08 08:31 GMT
A court on Monday extended the police custody of Kannada film actress Ragini Dwivedi by five more days. The actress was arrested in connection with an investigation into the drug racket in the Kannada film industry.

As her police custody got over on Monday, the police officials had presented her before the First ACMM court through video conference. The officials informed that Ragini has not been cooperating with the investigation. Thus, the court extended her custody for more days in order to get information from her.

According to reports, she had deleted all her data from her mobile phone to wipe out the digital evidence. However, the CCB officials managed to retrieve the data.

So far, the police have arrested six people including Ragini Dwivedi, Niyaz, Ravi Shankar, Rahul, Viren Khanna, and Loum Pepper Samba, a suspected drug peddler, in connection with the Sandalwood drug case. Sources claimed that at least 15 people in the film industry were involved in the drug trade.
