His maiden film with STR and Hansika as the lead was shelved due to unknown reasons.
But the talented director made a stellar debut with 'Kolamavu Kokila' in 2018. Nayanthara was the main lead in this film which received a lot of critical acclaim as well as commercial success. His second film 'Doctor' featuring his good friend Siva Karthikeyan released in 2021 and turned out to be a blockbuster. His third film is 'Beast' which has Thalapathy Vijay playing the lead role. Many thought that this is the biggest movie in his career and he got a golden chance in such a short time.
But Nelson is going at jet speed as the announcement was made a while ago claiming that he is the director for Superstar Rajnikanth's 169th film. Sun Pictures will be bankrolling this project while star composer Anirudh Ravichander will be giving the music once again. A special video was released which showcases Nelson and Anirudh dressed in black suits and a silhouette of Rajni was seen sitting on the chair. The ever charismatic hero was shown at the end and this news is making everyone very happy.
