Bhaagamathie: Did They Falter In Promotions?

Update: 2018-01-27 18:01 GMT
All the Sankranthi releases disappointed the audience and none of them turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. In fact, Tollywood failed to cash on Sankranthi box office potential.  'Jai Simha' is slightly better than the other films but it is also not a big hit.

As the Sankranthi season disappointed everybody focused on next biggie 'Bhagamathie'.  The trailer created a sensation and the audience predicted that it is going to be another 'Arundhati'.  Even trade circles were also hopeful that Anushka film will set the cash registers ringing at the box office.  But the result is not so great as everybody anticipated.

Though the collections are good, the movie didn't start with a unanimous blockbuster talk.  Industry insiders say that the makers faltered on promotions and they didn't exactly convey the genre of the film through promotions.  The audience who expected a horror thriller got surprised to see a political thriller with a coat of horror.  Some of the audience feel cheated when they got to know the genre of the film.

Not that audience didn't like it, what they expected is different from what they got.  Had the makers clearly conveyed the genre, the expectations would have been under control and the movie could have received unanimous hit talk thereby taking it to another level.  It seems they have missed it out.
