The Oscar award winners have been announced and 'Naatu Naatu' song and 'The Elephant Whisperers' won the prestigious award in the 'Best Original Song' and 'Best Documentary Short' categories respectively. This is a huge achievement for Indian cinema and everyone is proud of it.

On top of that, 'Everyone Everywhere All At Once' got seven Oscar awards while it was nominated in 11 categories. 'All Quiet On The Western Front' too bagged a few Oscars but what shocked everyone is how the jury left the two biggest hits of 2022 behind.

Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun Maverick' was the first film to cross 1 billion dollars of collection at the box office in Hollywood after the lockdown. The collections were over 1.4 billion dollars and people immensely liked this action adventure where the superstar was in full form.

On the other hand, 'Avatar The Way Of Water' which came out in December was a massive hit. With over 2.3 billion dollars of collections, it stands on the list of the Top 5 highest earning Hollywood films ever. This gigantic visual experience directed by James Cameron is surely jaw-dropping.

But all these two films managed to get were Two Oscar awards. While 'Top Gun: Maverick' got an Oscar in the 'Best Sound' category while 'Avatar The Way Of Water' won the Oscar in the Best Visual Effects category. Barring these two categories, these blockbuster movies failed to get an award in any other category. This is truly surprising and it proves that what people accept and what the critics and award committees accept are two separate things.
