The dream girl of 70's and one time Rajya Sabha member, Hema Malini, questions point blank the latest directors and their choice to cast only younger lot in their movies. This question is not coming from a point of view, frustrated about lack of work but it more comes from the concern about today's lack of correct intentions.
She asked the straight question in a media interview she gave to a famoys newspaper. She quipped, "We have been hearing lot of young women coming out and discussing about the dangerous trend of casting couch in the industry. Is that the reason behind not many filmmakers trying to cast a aged women in important roles? If that is the case then who will make a movie with an old woman like me?"
Well, she seems to upset about the unhealthy trend that has become an accepted truth in the industry. Many actress have come out in open saying the producers have asked them about "compromising" and "story discussions" hinting at granting them sexual pleasures for work.
While many writers and directors complain they don't have good stories to tell, who is stoping them from casting a senior actress as a lead and make a movie that appeals to all? Why should they restrict themselves to one template and write bad characters to actresses?
