India's Official Entry Gets Shortlisted For Oscars!

Update: 2022-12-22 07:06 GMT
When the Film Federation of India selected the Gujarati film 'Chhello Show' (Last Film Show) as the official entry to the Oscars from our country, a lot of people were against it. This decision did not go down well with many as they felt that Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' has a better chance of winning than the Gujarati film.

The shortlists for 10 categories in the Academy awards were announced today and 'Chhello Show' turned out to be one of the 15 movies which made it into the international movies category. This goes on to show that the decision taken by The Film Federation is right and the list will be announced on 24th January 2023.

This movie is directed by Pan Nilan and it bagged a lot of awards internationally. 'Last Film Show' has Bhavesh Shrimali, Bhavin Rabari, Dipen Raval, Richa Meena and others playing the lead roles. Music is composed by Cyril Morin and the winners will be grandly announced at Ovation Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on March 12th, 2023. This is good news and every Indian should be proud of it.

The team said, "We would like to thank the FFI, the millions of people who watched and admired 'Chhello Show', as well as our international distributors who gave the film a well-deserved push. This is a historic moment for India and we hope to bring the Oscar home very soon."

Apparently, the famous 'Naatu Naatu' song was also shortlisted in the Best Original Song category. It has to battle with 14 other songs to emerge as the winner.
