Jagan wants Tollywood to focus on AP?

The newly passed G.O pertaining to cinema ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh clearly implies that the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants Tollywood to focus more on Andhra Pradesh.

In the G.O, it is mentioned that big budget films, which carry out at least 20% of the shoot in Andhra Pradesh will be given special price hikes. This will encourage the makers of many Telugu big-ticket films to carry out the shooting schedules in Andhra Pradesh at least for the sake of special prices.

Also, Jagan had previously promised special subsidies to the film industry if they set up new film production and shoot studios in Andhra Pradesh. This should also persuade the producers to move to Vizag.

It is being said that the Jagan-led government of Andhra Pradesh opines that Tollywood is getting the majority of the revenue from Andhra Pradesh but paying all the taxes to the Telangana government. He wants to change that by one means or the other.

It remains to be seen how the Telugu film industry reacts to this move by the chief minister YS Jagan.
