Prestigious Project back on track after Two Decades

Kamal Haasan's ambitious project 'Marudanayagan' which began on a grand note in the early 90s was kept on hold after wrapping up few schedules. Queen Elizabeth-2 attend the formal launch of this venture as a chief guest. The estimated budget is anywhere close to Rs 75 crore in those days. Now, The cost of production would escalate by at least 3 times.

In the past two decades, Kamal Haasan tried his best to revive 'Marudanayagan' but wasn't successful due to lack of sufficient funding. After LYCA Productions came forward to invest Rs 350 crore for '2.0', Our Versatile Actor has seen a ray of hope and contacted this production house. After recovering from his leg injury, Kamal Haasan and LYCA Productions head Subhaskaran went to UK to focus on the pre-production. A London-based friend of Kamal will co-produce this venture.

Lots of changes to the script have been down by Kamal Haasan. He has given detailed explanation to the Producers on the work to be done for wrapping up the remaining portions, estimated budget and marketing strategy. Total budget requirement for 'Marudanayagan' is up to Rs 200 crore.
