Performances:
'Katamarayudu'rn is the one-man show of Pawan Kalyan. He entertainers his fans to the rnfullest with this commercial potboiler. Undoubtedly, This Get-up is one rnof the best in PK's Career. Pawan excelled in Comedy Blocks & rnRomantic Scenes with Shruti Haasan. He exhibited the emotions quite wellrn in the Climax as well.
Shruti Haasan does a crucial role. All ofrn her scenes with Pawan Kalyan are very entertaining. She wins brownie rnpoints with her glamour quotient.
Out of the four brothers, It's rnAjay who emerges as the Top Scorer. Siva Balaji, Krishna Chaitanya and rnKamal Kamaraju does a fine job. Ali tickles the funny bone after a long rngap. Nasser is first rate. Tarun Arora and Pradeep Rawat are just okay. rnRao Ramesh tried to a bit different this time but it didn't workout rnmuch. Pruthvi fails to impress.
Pros:
Pawan Kalyan
First Half
Cons:
Music
Routine Story
Screenplay
Technicalities:
Anuprn Rubens disappoints big time. The music composed by him isn't apt for a rnMass Entertainer. All the tracks, except 'Mira Mira Meesam', were just rnordinary. Even Background Score isn't appreciable. Visually, Only the rntitle track is appealing. Cinematography by Prasad Murella is an asset. rnProduction Values aren't on par with PK's earlier films. VFX in Train rnFight exposes it. Director Dolly adapted Tamil flick 'Veeram' so well torn suit Pawan Kalyan's image. Inspite of limitations, Dolly showed his rnexpertise in Action Blocks. Some of the dialogues like 'Chavuke Nenante rnBhayamâ¦Nenu Evari Daggaraku Vellamante Valla Daggaraku Velthundi' were rnimpressive. Dolly can't be blamed for routine story/screenplay as its a rnremake. He succeeded in making 'Katamarayudu' a treat for Pawan Fans rnusing his image to the fullest.
Analysis:
Firstrn things first, 'Katamarayudu' is a film solely made to entertain Fans rn& Masses using the image of Powerstar. Makers served what they rnwanted and Fans have no reason to complain what-so-ever. But, That rndoesn't mean this formulaic flick have no negatives. It's a pucca rncommercial entertainer which don't offer anything new in terms of eitherrn Story or Screenplay.
For General Audience, 'Katamarayudu' will rnbe just one-time watchable if they could enjoy the routine hero rnelevation scenes. Majority of the viewers doesn't find them irritating rnjust because Pawan Kalyan hasn't done something like that before. The rnRayalseema backdrop, Mass Characterization of PK, his New Avatar & rnImpressive Performance works in favor of 'Katamarayudu'. It's going to rnbe an enjoyable experience to those who connects with Pawan's Character rnor those who admires him. Others will be disappointed to know someone rnlike Pawan Kalyan has delivered an 'Old Wine in Old Bottle' kind of rnproduct.
'Katamarayudu' is a remake of Tamil flick 'Veeram' whichrn have an outdated plot. People were really surprised when they came to rnknow about Pawan Kalyan signing this project. For the Telugu Version, rnThe central plot remains one and the same. Just few more new scenes werern added to change the overall appeal and keeping fans in mind.
Pawanrn Kalyan's Role will be entertaining throughout the course of the movie. rnHeroism Elevating Scenes stood as an asset. First Half of the movie rnentertains with good dose of comedy, romance and fights. Screenplay in rnSecond Half isn't upto the mark. Focus is mostly on the action elements rnhere, comedy & romance take the back seat. Inclusion of few twists rncould have made it more engaging. Climax is just okay. Even better rnediting could have helped the cause. Overall, 'Katamarayudu' is a decentrn Mass Masala Flick.
Bottom Line: Only for Pawan Fans!
