Diwali, this year saw two releases and both of them were from Tamil Cinema. One is Bigil and the other one is Khaithi. Both did good business in Telugu markets.
Now, three films are gearing up for release on 1st of January and Telugu Cinema will be starting New Year with dubbing films.
Rashmika Mandanna's ex and upcoming star of Kannada Cinema, Rakshit Shetty's Athade Srimannarayana is releasing on 1st January, in Telugu. It opened in Karnataka on 27th December to good reviews and positive word of mouth.
Mammotty has an action film releasing on the same day. It is directed by Vishakh, who made Manyam Puli with Mohan Lal and it is titled, Raja Narasimha. It became a hit in Malayalam and distributors here, are hoping for decent returns.
The third release is from Dhanush and Gautham Vasudev Menon. The most talked about film for its delay in release and great music, released in Tamil, finally after a lot of struggle.
After a long struggle, Enai Nokki Payum Thota released on 29th November but it did not receive positive word of mouth as people felt GVM went for too many voice overs and narrated same Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo story, again.
Movie is coming out as Thoota, in Telugu. The Telugu distributors might have made some changes to the run-time and edited few scenes. But they seem to have very low expectations from the film, here.
