Baywatch, an action comedy starring big stars like Dwayne 'Rock' Johnson, Zack Efron, Alexandria Daddario and our very own Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra, released to an unexpected reception from the major critics of Hollywood.
The movie released in USA, on 25th May, a before the release of Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men tell No Tales. Baywatch is based on the popular Television series with the same name. The major attraction of the series was bikini babes and chiseled men, ready to rescue people from accidents on beach. Movie had a similar storyline but with Priyanka as a Villain, evil business women. Critics panned the movie by saying it has no wit to offer along with ridiculous storyline.
Critics also criticised excessive reliance of Dwayne Johnson's image and comic timing. They slammed Zack Efron and Alexandria Daddario for just being presentable and not trying to even flex one acting muscle in their body. Although in such a trainwreck of a film, many opined Priyanka as the bright spot and literally she saved the film and it is her and Rock, that will help the movie to achieve any box office numbers, they said. Well, the movie releases on 2nd of June in India and it sure will take a big opening here. The most important fact is that in a big budget Hollywood movie, our actress Priyanka Chopra proved to be the 'life-saver' and that gives us a little bit of pride too.
