Compared to other languages, Tollywood makes a fewer number of multi-starrers. It may be because of the image of our stars or pressure from fans. But things started to change from the past few years.
It all started with 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' when superstar Mahesh Babu and Victory Venkatesh decided to come together for a classy family entertainer. Many films like 'Oopiri', 'Devadas', 'F2', 'Masala', and others came in the middle. Currently, Rajamouli is making 'RRR', one of the biggest multi-starrers in Tollywood with NTR and Charan in the lead. But legendary director K Raghavendar Rao planned a huge multi-starrer with senior heroes long back.
Actually, Raghavendar Rao wanted to make a big multi-starrer titled 'Triveni Sangamam' with Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh in the lead as his 100th film. But this film did not work out and Raghavendar Rao went on to make 'Gangotri' with Allu Arjun as his century film.
But imagine what would have happened when stars like Chiru, Nag and Venky came together for a film back then. It would have created many records and makers would have attempted more experiments then itself. But sources say that Raghavendar Rao is once again planning to get this film started again as the taste of audience has changed a lot now and this Mega-Daggubati-Akkineni combo will attract the movie buffs a lot.
Raghavendar Rao's last hit was 'Ramadasu' which came in 2006. He did not direct any film after 'Om Namo Venkatesaya' and news is that he is making moves to produce 'Triveni Sangamam' with his son Prakash Kovelamudi as director.
